What you eat is reflected in your nails, too.

- The lack of vitamin A and calcium causes dryness and brittleness of nails.
- Insufficient protein, folic acid and vitamin C intake can cause hang nails.
- White band in the nail plate is caused by deficiency in protein.
- Lack of fluid intake causes cuts and cracks in the nails.

How to improve the health of your nails?

- Your diet must be composed of 50% fruit and raw vegetables in order to supply necessary vitamins,
minerals and enzymes.
- Drink plenty of water and other fluids.
- To strengthen nails, supplement your diet with royal jelly, spirulina or kelp, which are rich in silica, zinc and B vitamins, which will help strengthen your nails.
- Drink carrot juice daily. Carrot is high in calcium and phosphorous, which are terrific in strengthening nails.
